| 2008 - SEPTEMBER MEETING - Japanese Torch Demo |
|
This month's member meeting featured a demo by Diane Kovach of the new Japanese Torch that has been added to the SF Resource Center. The Japanese Torch runs on propane and room air and is used mostly with Satake glass which is a very soft glass. This torch will available to be borrowed by members. In addition to the photo below which were taken by Cristie Prince, there is a video made by Andrew Lunde which is available on another page in the Scrapbook and from our Tips and Techniques Section. |

and Andrew Lunde make announcements. In Diane's hand is the
new ISGB foldout brochure for consumers:
"How to Buy Glass Beads - A Shopper's Guide to
Finding Quality Art Glass Beads" which is "designed as an educational
piece to inform buyers about flameworked glass beads. The brochure
covers the topics of buyer education, quality and mass production and
includes beautiful examples of ISGB members' beads." ISGB sells
them for $25.00 per 100 brochures.
You can
purchase smaller quantities from Southern Flames.
