2010 - APRIL MEETING STEPHANIE WHITE DEMO (Part 1)
|
|
|
|
We had alot going on at our April Meeting. First of all our new Board was elected, there was lots of information from Kristy Nijenkamp about our upcoming Silent Auction, and FlameTree Glass announced a demo by Loren Stump (see Announcements for details). Also Beads of Courage is planning a party at Egleston Hospital in June to celebrate two years of the BOC program in Atlanta and is inviting SF to be part of the festivities. |
|
The main event of the evening,
however, was a demo by Stephanie White. After many
months of hoping that she would do this demo for the group, Stephanie
agreed to show us how she makes butterfly wing murrini cane and then
butterflies from that cane. Before she started working at the
torch, Stephanie described what she was going to do using the drawings
on the whiteboard shown below. First she will
make the base cane - multicolored and shaped like a teardrop.
After this base cane is pulled it will be cut into pieces and assembled
into a complex cane. Each slice of the complex cane will be
one wing of a butterfly.
