End of Treatment Bead for Radiation Therapy

GLASS NEEDED:

White

Aquamarine Transparent

Glow Powder (Glasscraft, GG-LTBLUE)  (Several colors of Glow Powder are carried by FlameTree Glass in Roswell, GA.  Call 678-795-1702 or 1-888-FLAMETREE (352-6387) or check their website to make sure the glow powder is in stock).

  BEAD

1. Form a smallish white bead, approx ˝ inch diameter.

2. Heat the surface and roll in glow powder.  Tap off any excess and return to the flame.  Reheat the surface and roll on Glow Powder a second time. Tap off excess and return to the flame.  Melt in slightly.

3. Encase in a thin layer of aquamarine transparent.

4. The end result of this combination is a blue glow similar to Cerenkov radiation seen in nuclear reactors.  When ‘charged’ by bright light these beads will glow for several hours.

 

NOTE 

Always wear respiratory protection when working with any powders or enamels and be sure that your ventilation is working properly
