Let’s see those BEAUTIFUL BEADS shine on our 2011 Southern Flames’ ISGB Chapter Postcard. Yes, it’s that time again for us to gather our chapter’s beads to include in the Southern Flames postcard for the ISGB Gathering this summer in Louisville, Kentucky. (Check out our website, to see past postcards on the main page and see how various bead colors photograph, etc.).

This postcard is a wonderful opportunity to share our beads collectively as a group, and to highlight your work individually.  For those of you unfamiliar with this project, we send 500 of our chapter’s postcards to the 2011 gathering to be placed into bundles of various other individual and chapter postcards for sale.  Each SF participant receives SF postcards (quantity to be determined).  As a group, it is fun and inspiring to see how everyone’s glass voice has changed and grown over the years.

      1.      The Hard Deadline is March 19th at the Southern Flames Meeting with Michael Barley  or you can mail them to our attention, BUT the bead must be delivered by Saturday, March 19th.

2.      Attached is a form for you to fill out with your name, contact info, bead orientation for photography, etc.

3.      If you cannot submit your bead/form at the March meeting, please mail it to:

                        Becky Sizemore

505 Princeton Way, NE

Atlanta, GA 30307

     4.      Whether you mail your bead or hand deliver it to the March 19th meeting, please package it carefully in a protective box/padded package with your form inside   as well as marking the package with your name.

5.      If you mail your bead, please send Becky Sizemore a quick email at letting her know your bead is on the way. PLEASE use SF POSTCARD BEAD as the subject. She will send you a confirmation of receipt when your bead arrives. If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt, this means that she did not receive your bead.

6.      How to choose your bead?  Remember when selecting your bead for photography….sometimes a gorgeous bead does not photograph well (clear beads, light colored beads with dichro, extremely dark beads with dark detail, etc.).  We will do our best to honor the beauty of your beads, but be sure to be proactive on how to best present your beads.  Also large sculptural pieces will be the size of stamps, so keep this proportion in mind with your submission.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Becky at  Please use SF Postcard Question as the subject.

Thanks everyone….we are looking forward to seeing your beautiful work, and we promise to take good care of your beads!
